Indian equity market ended on a negative bias, the benchmark broad based Index Nifty ended the week at 10989.45 with a loss by 1.90% i.e. 212.30 points and BSE Sensex closed the week with a loss by 1.88% i.e. 720.67 points at 37576.62.
Nifty Index opened the week with gap up near 11387 and made a weekly high at 11433 thereafter, unable to move above 11433, consolidated till Thursday, further sell-off on Friday, pushed the Index till 10827.40 and ended the week at 10989.45.
Nifty Bank Index also opened the week at 29700 and made a high 29791.15 then, the weakness dragged down till 27162.50 and closed with a weekly loss by 4.62% i.e 1345.70 points at 27801.45.
The Indices were closed with a huge weekly loss are Nifty PSU Banks lost -7.75%, Nifty Realty lost -3.85 and marginal losers were Nifty Auto lost -0.13%, Nifty FMCG lost -1.27% and some of the segments were closed with positive bias i.e. Nifty Pharma 5.83%, Nifty IT 2.96%.
