Indian equity market ended on a positive note, the benchmark broad based Index Nifty ended the week at 11194.15 with a gain by 2.68% i.e., 292.45 points and BSE Sensex closed the week with a gain by 3 % .i.e., 1108.76 points at 38128.90. 

Nifty Index opened the week with a gap up at 10999.45, thereafer, it moved till 11238.10 further, a techincal sell-off dragged the Index til 11056.55, once again it moved up and tested 11239.80 and closed the week at 11194.15 with a gain by 2.68%.

Nifty Bank Index also opened the week with a gap up at 22307.30 and made a week high at 23211.35, thereafter, the weakness cum sell-off dragged down till 22417.20 and closed the week with a weekly gain by 3.17% i.e. 695.25 points at 22662.05.

Last week, the sectoral Indices were closed with a gain are: Nifty IT gained 2.76%, Nifty Auto gained 1.14% and Nifty Realty gained 1.02%. At the same time the following sectoral indices were closed with a loss are: Nifty Pharma lost 2.24%, Nifty FMCG lost 1.34%  and Nifty Metal index closed with a loss by 0.74%.
